Congressional Aide Fired After Incident In Santa Barbara Which Leaves Woman Critically Injured

A local congresswoman has fired an aide who was arrested on a felony DUI charge for a hit and run incident which seriously injured a woman.

Democratic Congresswoman Lois Capps fired Raymond Morua as a result of  the early Friday morning incident in Santa Barbara.

Police say the 32 year old man had been in downtown Santa Barbara, and hit a woman on the 500 block of Anacapa Street.

Investigators say he then left the scene, and was eventually arrested after he lost control of his car, and hit a tree near the intersection of State Street, and Cabrillo Boulevard.

The 27 year old woman, Mallory Dies, remains in the hospital in critical conditions.
