How best to manage Channel Islands National Park for decades to come is the focus of a pair of open houses, and public hearings taking place in Ventura, and Santa Barbara.
Ideas include elements like designating around half of the national park as wilderness, to give the land added protection.
KCLU’s Lance Orozco talks with the park’s superintendent about why the plan is needed, and some of the proposals being considered.
