Posted on Friday, November 22, 2013 1:29pm

A second suspect is now in custody in connection with a stabbing, and chase on the Central Coast earlier this month.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s detectives say two people were involved in the November 6th stabbing of a man near the Chumash Casino, in the Santa Ynez Valley.

Deputies saw the suspect vehicle in Santa Maria later that same day, and there was a chase which ended in Grover beach with a crash.

A passenger in the car, Cherie Rodriguez ,was arrested, but Osvaldo Hernandez was able to flee on foot, and elude deputies.

Investigators say the known gang member was hiding at a home on the 200 block of Inger Drive in Santa Maria, and yesterday, a SWAT team was able to capture him as he tried to flee on foot.

The 35 year old was arrested for attempted murder, kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, and other charges.

The stabbing victim, who had been robbed, was serious injured, but survived.
