Appearance Of Dangerous Bacterial Infection In Santa Barbara County Which Can Cause Meningitis Now Called Outbreak

Concern remains high in Santa Barbara County’s public health community, following the discovery of three cases of a bacterial disease which can cause meningitis, or serious bloodstream infections.

Two UCSB students are among those confirmed with the disease.

It’s easily treatable with antibiotics if caught early, but has the potential to be fatal.
