She starred in critically acclaimed movies like “Much Ado About Nothing” and “Love Actually.”
Now, actress Emma Thompson is going to receive the Santa Barbara International Film Festival’s highest award.
Thompson will be presented with the festival’s Modern Master Award on February 8th. She’s being honored for the body of work during her career, as well as for the upcoming movie “Saving Mr. Banks,” in which she plays P.L Travers, the author of Mary Poppins. The new film, which co-stars Tom Hanks as Walt Disney, is the story of how the classic movie was made.
Past winners of the Modern Master Award include Sir Anthony Hopkins, Michael Douglas, George Clooney, Will Smith, and Clint Eastwood.
