Ventura County’s Sheriff is headed home from Sacramento, after having a heart attack there early this week, and undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Sheriff Geoff Dean was in the state capitol for a law enforcement conference when he had what’s described as a mild heart attack on Wednesday. He was taken to a hospital, where he underwent a procedure for a clogged artery.
Department officials say Dean is doing well, and was discharged from the hospital today, but because of his condition, couldn’t fly home, and is driving by car. There’s no word on when the Sheriff will return to work.
