It’s one of the most popular hiking, biking, and equestrian areas on the South Coast for decades.
On a nice day like today, Hot Springs Canyon in the Montecito foothills will be busy with activity.
But, most people who use the area don’t know the property was privately owned, and that they were actually trespassing.
A non-profit land trust stepped up and bought the more than 400 acres of land, and today, it will be turned over to the U.S. Forest Service.
