A brush fire burning outside of Santa Paula has now burned about 100 acres of land.
The fire was first reported at around 11 a.m., on the 6800 block of Wheeler Canyon Road.
Firefighters have had to deal with low humidity, and near record heat to battle the fire, which is burning in rugged mountainous terrain.
More than 100 firefighters, aided by air tankers and helicopters are battling the blaze.
There’s no word of any structure damage, and there are no mandatory evacuations at this time.
The cause is still under investigation.
