A Central Coast city is spending more than $160,000 to settle a contract with its now city attorney, who is being forced out by the City Council.
The Morro Bay City Council reached a settlement with Robert Schultz.
Council members aren’t saying why they are ousting the longtime city attorney, who had been with the city for more than 15 years.
Schultz and the city approved the deal this week, with the city attorney officially leaving the post tomorrow.
Newly elected City Council members moved in September to discipline, or fire Schultz, but never explained why.
