There’s controversy in one Central Coast community over people renting out part, or all of their homes to tourists for short term stays.
The City of San Luis Obispo has a seven year old ordinance which prohibits the practice.
City officials say some people have been doing it, and they have been receiving complaints, prompting the city to issue a number of citations.
Some of the homeowners say they were unaware of the restriction.
The City Council is set to look at the issue when it meets tonight, and discuss whether the existing ordinance should be modified to accommodate the rentals, or whether it should continued to be enforced in its existing form.
