A woman with more than two decades expereince in law enforcement has been named Morro Bay’s new Police Chief.
Amy Christey was selected from more than 60 applicants to become the Central Coast city’s new top cop. Christey has been with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Department for more than 20 years, most recently as a lieutenant with the department.
Christey will officially take office November 13th. She’ll fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Tim Olivas, who left to become an undersheriff with the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department.
