It’s going to look like a major fire is occurring in Ventura this weekend, because of a caravan of fire trucks headed to the city, but it’s actually part of a special memorial service.
A tribute is set for this weekend for firefighters who died in the line of duty in Ventura County.
The ceremony will take place Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at the Fallen Firefighter Memorial of Ventura County, which is at the Ventura County Government Center.
42 firefighters from various firefighting agencies in the county have died in the line of duty over the years.
Firefighters from around the region, along with a fleet of fire engines will be on hand for the Saturday morning ceremony, which is open to the public.
