Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives say they believe a pizza delivery man was picking up more than tips from his customers…the investigators say he was stealing credit card information.
The owner of a Moorpark pizza restaurant received a complaint that Jonathan Rutherford had improperly written down credit card information from a customer while delivering a pizza.
The owner investigated, firing the 28 year old Thousand Oaks man, and reporting what had occurred to sheriff’s deputies.
Detectives say the found Rutherford was in possession of stolen credit cards, and had used stolen information to buy gift cards.
They say Rutherford obtained the information while delivering pizza in August, and September, and that some people may not realize they’ve been victimized yet.
