No one was hurt, but some schools in Ventura County were placed on lockdown this afternoon as authorities searched for a wanted man believed to be in the area.
Ventura Police say they spotted the parolee at around two. The man was able to flee, and apparently headed to southern Oxnard. As a result, three schools were placed on lockdown for more than an hour.
Students at Fred Williams Elementary School, Charles Blackstock Junior High School, and Channel Islands High School kept students on campus until nearly 4 p.m.
The man police were looking for is still at large.
