A man who was a tireless advocate for affordable housing in Ventura County has died.
Rodney Fernandez was one of the founders of the Cabrillo Economic Development Corporation
The three decade old organization has created more than 1500 housing units in the region over its history.
He appeared on KCLU many times over the years, speaking up as one of the strongest voices in the community for efforts to build more affordable housing.
Fernandez retired about two years ago.
He had been in failing health for some time.
Fernandez was 68 years old.
