The future of nuclear power plants in the wake of the tsunami caused disaster at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant in Japan is the focus of some community forums in Santa Barbara today.
A Fukushima survivor, a nuclear scientist, and an environmentalist are among the panelists set for the two panels sponsored by the Santa Barbara and Tri-County Chapter of the United Nations Association.
The daytime session is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at The University Club, in Santa Barbara.
The nighttime panel will take place from 7-9 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church, in Santa Barbara.
Both forums are free, and open to the public.
