Community Meeting Set To Talk About Expected Flood Of Halloween Visitors To Isla Vista

Posted on Monday, October 21, 2013 12:27am

It’s a massive annual unsponsored, unplanned party in Isla Vista which occurs around Halloween every year, bringing tens of thousands of visitors, and big headaches for public safety officials.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department mobilizes extra officers, and emergency medial aid stations are set up to deal the situation.

The City of Goleta will host a community meeting to talk about efforts to keep the situation under control.  Law enforcement, medical, and UCSB officials will be on hand to talk about efforts to deal with the influx of visitors.  The meeting will take place from 6-7 p.m. Wednesaday, at Goleta City Hall.
