The stinky mulch fire that’s been burning in Ventura County could be around for a few days still.
The fire was discovered at around 7:30 Wednesday morning, at a closed mushroom farm on the 4400 block of Olivas Park Drive, in Ventura.
The mulch is 10-15 feet deep in areas, and water dumped on top of the fire doesn’t reach the blaze, which is burning deep into the pile.
Firefighters are using heavy equipment to spread out the mulch, and then trying to put it out.
It could be this weekend before the fire is extinguished.
No structures have been damaged, and no injuries reported.
There’s no word on the cause of the fire.
