18 people are in custody, after authorities say the broke up a major drug smuggling operation on the Central Coast.
San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to the San Simeon area at about one a.m. today, after receiving reports there might be a panga boat in the area.
They spotted a suspicious looking motor home, and car.
Deputies stopped them near the intersection of Highway 101, and Highway 46, and found large amounts of marijuana, and some methamphetamine inside.
Another van was stopped near the Highway 1-Highway 46 intersection, and the occupants of a fourth vehicle were arrested after that van crashed near that intersection.
A 35 foot panga boat was found on the beach in the San Simeon area, which was believed to have been used to smuggle drugs in from Mexico.
