Salmonella Outbreak Hits In Ventura County, and Possibly Santa Barbara County

A salmonella outbreak tied to chicken that’s sickened hundreds of people across the country has hit our region.

More than 270 people have been sickened in 17 states from chicken federal officials have linked to three Foster Farms plants in California.

There have been a number of confirmed cases in Ventura County, and some possible ones in Santa Barbara County.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco looks at the concern, and talks to a public health official about poultry safety.
