Governor Signs Bill By South Coast Assemblyman To Beef Up Protection Against Pesticides

Posted on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 5:32pm

The governor signed into law a bill from a South Coast assemblyman intended to provide new protections for the public against pesticides.

AB 304 will require the State Department of Pesticide Regulation to develop mitigation measures for pesticides it determines pose a public health danger.  Once a determination of risk is made about a chemical, the department has two years to develop additional protection measures for its use.

The legislation was authored by Democratic Assemblyman Das Williams of Santa Barbara.
