Santa Ana Winds Increase Brush Fire Danger In Tri-Counties

Posted on Friday, October 4, 2013 1:33pm

A strong Santa Ana wind condition has increased the brush fire danger throughout the region.

Wind gusts up to 80 miles an hour are possible in the mountains of Ventura and Los Angeles Counties, humidity dropping into the single digits, and Red Flag fire conditions.

The wind problems aren’t as acute in Santa Barbara County, but Red Flag warning conditions could develop in the county’s mountains overnight.

Temperatures could be 10-20 degrees above normal tomorrow.

The wind is expected to ease Sunday, with a cooling trend starting on Monday.
