Biosecurity Plan Created For Channel Islands, To Try To Prevent Non-Native Plants, Animals From Invading Habitat

Security is being beefed up in our region against some potential invaders.

It’s not an effort to crack down on drug, or human smuggling, but to prevent non-native invasive species from getting from the mainland, to the Channel Islands.

Even as efforts continue to return the islands to their natural state, plants, and animals from the mainland pose a substantial risk.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports an innovative new biosecurity program has been completed for the islands, as in the process of being implemented.
