Two Injured When Car Crashed Into Gazebo At Santa Ynez Valley Market

A father, and son were injured when the elderly driver of a car accidental stepped on the gas, instead of the brake of a car in the parking lot of a Santa Ynez valley supermarket, and smashed into an outdoor gazebo.

The accident happened just before 10 this morning, in the parking lot of the El Rancho Market, on the 3800 block of Mission Drive.  A 32 year old Solvang man, and his three year old son were sitting in the gazebo when the car pulling into a parking spot suddenly accelerated, and smashed into the structure used by people having coffee, or lunch.

The father, and son were treated at the scene for moderate injuries, and taken to Cottage Hospital.  The 73 year old female driver, who is from Santa Maria, was uninjured, as was her husband, who was a passenger in the car.
