San Luis Obispo County Supervisors Again Set To Look At Groundwater Controversy

Posted on Friday, September 27, 2013 3:22pm

San Luis Obispo County Supervisors are again set to look at major groundwater shortage concerns in the northern part of the county, with an emergency ordinance set to expire early next month.

County Supervisors have placed the issue in the Paso Robles area on the agenda for their meeting next Tuesday.

The controversial emergency ordinance set to expire in October limits the planting of new vineyards, unless water is secured to offset the groundwater needed for the plants.

The region’s groundwater basin has showed major drops in recent years.
