South Coast School District Planning To Test Use Of iPads In Schools

Posted on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 11:01am

Cutting edge iPad technology is arriving in classrooms all over the country, and the Santa Barbara School District is now planning a pilot program in some of its schools.

The District is looking at testing the use of the electronic devices in four schools, including Adams, Franklin, and Washington Elementary Schools, and La Cuesta Continuation School.

iPads are already being used by some students, and teachers, but not at any Santa Barbara school on a school-wide basis.

Money is a big concern, because the district has some Common Core funding available, but not enough to pay for a large scale ongoing program.
