Posted on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 12:14am

It was just over two decades ago that an athletic young woman was in a tragic accident.  In a freak skiing accident, Amada Boxtel was paralyzed from the hips down.

Now, she has the nickname of “the bionic woman.”

Thanks to cutting edge technology, an experimental system known as an exoskeleton is helping her walk.

KCLU’s Lance Orozco reports Boxtel is headed to the South Coast for an event in which she’ll talk about enhancing mobility with bionic technology.
