State Shutdown Of Redevelopment Agencies Putting New Crimp On Efforts To Build Affordable Housing On South Coast

A lack of affordable housing has been an issue on the South Coast for decades, and the recession has only increased the problem.

On top of that, a move by the state to eliminate redevelopment agencies has made it more difficult to get financing to build affordable housing units.

It was one of the hot topics at the 12th annual Ventura County Housing Conference, which took place in Camarillo yesterday.
