A man has been arrested after authorities found a scanner designed to steal personal information from customers placed on an ATM at a Ventura County bank.
The device was found on a scanner at a Chase Bank on the 1000 block of Westlake Boulevard in Thousand Oaks in June. Chase Bank investigators notified Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives, and a Northern California based team which specializes in bank fraud.
An investigation led to the arrest of Karen Sargsyan this week, at his Glendale home. Detectives say they found evidence directly linking the 29 year old man to the crime. He was arrested for fraudulent use of a credit card scanning device, and possession of personal information for the purpose of identity theft.
