Eighteen people have been arrested following the landing of a panga boat on a Santa Barbara County beach.
The boat was detected in the Refugio Beach area just after 12 a.m. today.
14 people were arrested, and around a ton of marijuana was seized.
Later in the morning, four more people were found hiding in the area where the boat landed, raising the total of arrests to 18.
A truck carrying marijuana which was investigators believe was connected to the panga boat was stopped by federal agents in the Camarillo area, but the people inside escaped on foot.
The boats have been used extensively during the last two years to try to smuggle people, and drugs into the United States from Mexico.
