Santa Barbara County County Sheriff’s detectives say a drug dealer they arrested this week who moonlighted as a landscaper stashed some of the methamphetamine he was selling in the yard of an elderly Montecito couple where he worked.
Alejandro Lopez had been under investigation for about a year and a half, and at one point fled to Mexico, but detectives learned he had recently returned to Santa Barbara County. The 30 year old man was arrested at a Summerland park this week. Investigators say the seized more than two pounds of methamphetamine, worth more than $24,000.
They say the homeowners where some of the drugs had been stashed were unaware of the criminal activity.
