Posted on Friday, September 6, 2013 1:54pm

A charity walk, and a marathon are going to mean to mean some traffic disruptions on the South Coast this weekend.

An estimated 2500 walkers will take part in the Avon Walk For Breast Cancer in Santa Barbara County beginning at 7 a.m. tomorrow.  The event will take the walkers from Santa Barbara to Carpinteria, and use sections of Highway 225 in Santa Barbara, as well as a number of 101 Freeway ovepasses.

The Pier to Pier Ventura Marathon will take an estimated 800 runners from the Ventura Pier to Oxnard, and Port Hueneme before returning them to Ventura Sunday.  The marathon starts at 7 a.m., and will end around 1 p.m.  There will only be a few total road closures, but they include sections of Harbor Boulevard, Spinnaker Drive, and Gonzales Road.

Law enforcement officers will be out along the marathon route to help with traffic control.
