Work to install a median barrier on Highway 101in San Luis Obispo County is prompting some lane closures this week.

The work is taking place on the 101 just north of Cuesta Grade, to Highway 58 in the Santa Margarita area.

The fast lane of the highway northbound will be closed from six p.m., until noon the next day through Friday.

The fast lane of the southbound 101 will be closed in the same area overnights from 7 p.m., to 5 a.m.

Caltrans will have electronic warning signs posted in the area.

Traffic could be delayed by up to 15 minutes.

The median barrier is intended to prevent the possibility of an out of control vehicle crossing through the center divider, and causing a head on accident.
