The State Senate has approved a bill which if eventually signed by the governor will make small cities in Ventura County eligible for more transportation funding.
State Senate Bill 203, authored by Democratic State Senator Fran Pavley of Agoura Hills, would give smaller cities in the county more flexibility in spending transportation funding.
The cities would have to meet public transit needs first. Most small cities around the state already have the flexibility, but the county was excluded because it doesn’t have a current transportation plan. One is being developed.
