San Luis Obispo County Supervisors Looking At Water Crisis In North County Today

Posted on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 3:12pm

San Luis Obispo County Supervisors today are wrangling with a water crisis in the northern part of the county.

Supervisors have been looking at the possibility of an emergency ordinance to limit water usage east of Paso Robles, where the water table has been heavily depleted.

Today, the board ordered staff to start developing the framework for a water management district, and called for the expedited processing of an application for a new well in the area.

They are also looking at the concept of an emergency ordinance to limit new water usage, one which has many people, especially those in the ag and wine industry concerned.
