The future of a major Central Coast park is the focus of a series of public meetings starting this week, and continuing into October.
The City of Santa Maria is getting public comment on an Open Space Management Plan for Los Flores Ranch Park.
The 1700 acre plus park south of Santa Maria was an oil production area.
The city bought the land, which is now mostly open space, with rolling hills, trees, and trails.
The first in a series of three community meetings is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. tomorrow night, at the Elwin Mussell Senior Center, in Santa Maria.
