Man Sought For Double Stabbing In Santa Barbara County

Posted on Thursday, August 22, 2013 12:14am

A Santa Barbara County man is being sought as a suspect in a double stabbing on Highway 154.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 1500 block of Highway 154 around 4 p.m. yesterday, by reports of a disturbance.

They found two men with stab wounds in a pickup truck.

Investigators say the men had been involved in an argument with Gabriel Nicholas Rivera.  They say the 47 year old Santa Barbara man stabbed the two others, and fled.

A search was launched using K-9’s, and a helicopter, but efforts to find Rivera were unsuccessful.  Detectives say that he had a record of run-ins with the law.

The two men were taken to a hospital for treatment of their injuries, and they are expected to recover.
