A man authorities say was acting as a contractor, even though he didn’t have a license has been arrested on grand theft, and diversion of funds charges in Ventura County.
Simi Valley Police say last October, a city resident paid Udon Jimenez $5,000 for construction work which the 49 year old man never started.
Repeated efforts to get a refund went nowhere. The victim then called police.
Detectives couldn’t find Jimenez, but eventually got him to respond to a text asking him to bid on work at a foreclosed Simi Valley home. Jimenez showed up, and was promptly arrested.
Investigators say they think there may be more possible victims in the area. They say he was doing business as Jimenez Hardscape & Concrete.
