Authorities are still trying to sort out exactly what led to a verbal dispute, a high speed car chase, and a crash in Southern Santa Barbara County.
Just after noon yesterday, four people got into an argument in the parking lot of the Calle Real Marketplace in Goleta, possibly over drugs.
Two of the people jumped in a car and fled, closely followed by the other two in a second car.
The high speed chase went down Storke Road, Glen Anne Road, and Cathedral Oaks Road, with Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies saying both drivers hi high speeds, and made dangerous passing maneuvers over double lines.
The pursuit ended when the driver of the first car failed to make a curve on the 500 block of Camino Laguna Vista, hit a tree, and then wipe out part of a home’s fence.
The driver of the car suffered minor injuries, while the passenger was unhurt. Investigators are still trying to determine what charges may be filed as a result of the chase.
