Downed Power Lines Blamed For Brush Fire In Santa Barbara County

Downed power lines are being blamed for a brush fire which caused a scare in Santa Barbara County, briefly threatening some homes.

The fire broke out around 2:30 p.m. yesterday in the Cebada Canyon area, northeast of Lompoc.  Some homes were initially threatened by the flames, but Santa Barbara County firefighters were able to protect them.

Firefighters were able to knock down the fire in about two hours, fullly containing it before nightfall.

No structures were damaged, and no one was hurt.
