Dallas Cowboys Moving Team Headquarters In Texas; Impacts On Summer Training Camps In Oxnard Unclear

Posted on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 12:50am

The Dallas Cowboys are in Ventura County this month for their summer training camp, but key team officials returned to Texas to announce yesterday that the NFL team is moving its longtime home base for its headquarters.

The team signed a deal to move its headquarters from Irving, Texas to another suburb, the City of Frisco.

A new 90 plus acre development will include 25 acres of land for Cowboys related facilities.

A city sales tax, and school district funding will build a 12,000 seat indoor stadium, two practice facilities, and other buildings.

Local schools will also use the facilities.

The Cowboys signed a 25 year lease, which calls for them to use the facilities for training camp at least one week a year.

What’s unclear is how this might affect the team’s on again, off again training camp relationship with Oxnard.
