Two Arrested For Mail Theft, Burglary In Santa Barbara And San Luis Obispo Counties

A San Luis Obispo County couple has been arrested in Santa Barbara County for a burglary, and theft spree which spanned both counties.

Zacary Hamiln and Amy Northcote of Arroyo Grande were stopped yesterday morning for a traffic violation as they were driving on the 5500 block of Carpinteria Avenue, in Carpinteria.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputy who made the stop noticed the vehicle matched the description of one involved in some mail thefts.  The deputy then learned the two are on probation for theft.

A search of the car turned up a large amount of stolen property, cell phones, checks, and a large amount of stolen mail from Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties.

The two were booked more than a half dozen charges each, ranging from drug possession to identity theft.
