2012 was a record year for agriculture in Ventura County, with strawberries remaining the county’s top crop.
Strawberries made up more than a third of the county’s $1.9 billion dollar crop total, with a value of just over $690 million dollars.
Lemons and raspberries came in second and third.
Making the top ten crop list in Ventura County for the first time last year was cilantro.
Ventura County agricultural officials presented the annual report to county supervisors yesterday.
