Police are now saying a man driving under the influence, and trying to avoid a State Parks officer caused a multi-vehicle collision in Ventura which left several people with minor injuries.

The officer tried to stop Raymond Escudero Friday night for driving erratically on Harbor Boulevard in Ventura.  Police say the 33 year old man failed to stop, and sped away in speeds of excess of 80 miles an hour.   The Oxnard man went east on Olivas Park Drive, and crossed the center median at Victoria Avenue, and hit some vehicles waiting to turn at an intersection.

Escudero was arrested for felony evading, felony hit and run, and DUI causing injuries.
