Parents Of Troubled Actress Appear In Ventura County Court To Seek Conservatorship

Posted on Friday, July 26, 2013 3:46pm

The parents of a troubled actress were in court in Ventura County today, as part of an effort to seek conservatorship of their daughter.

Amanda Bynes was taken to a psychiatric facility in Ventura County Monday night for an involuntary hold, after authorities say she set a fire in the driveway of a Thousand Oaks home.

The 27 year old woman’s parents are asking a judge to give them temporary control over her medical treatment, as well as finances.

Bynes has had a number of run-ins with the law during the last few years, including a DUI arrest.

The hearing on the parents request was continued until next month, to give Bynes a chance to talk to an attorney.

The actress grew up in the Conejo Valley, starting in a number of television series, and teen oriented movies.
