The Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant now has both reactors up and running, after one of them was shut down nearly a week ago.
The plant’s Unit Two was taken offline after a problem developed with the electrical system which moves power from the plant, to the power grid.
A team at the plant determined that the issue occurred during routine maintenance on the non-nuclear side of the plant.
The issue took the system offline, to prevent damage from occurring.
Diablo’s Unit One was unaffected by the problem, and has continued to generate power at the San Luis Obispo County plant while Unit Two was out of service.
