Brush Fire Burning In Mountains East Of Fillmore

Posted on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 5:07pm

Firefighters are battling a 25 acre plus brush fire east of Fillmore.

No structures are in danger, but the fire is burning in rugged hills outside of the city, making it difficult to fight.  Some personnel have been evacuated from the Hopper Mountain National Bird Refuge.

Three air tankers, and a helicopter are being used to battle the blaze.  There’s no word yet on possible containment.
