Posted on Thursday, June 13, 2013 12:03am

A South Coast congresswoman wants public schools to teach CPR, and the use of automated external defibrillators.

Democratic Congresswoman Lois Capps of Santa Barbara introduced legislation which calls for providing resources to schools to teach CPT, and AED.  Capps says more than 350,000 people die annually from sudden cardiac arrest, but studies show victims have a 34% better chance of survival if they are immediately treated.
