Santa Barbara County has a new top emergency services official.
Ryan Rockabrand will become the county’s new Chief of Emergency management on July 1st.
Rockabrand is currently with Los Angeles County’s Office of Emergency Management, and has worked in similar jobs with the City of Chicago, and the U.S. Navy.
He will be responsible for emergency planning, and coordination in Santa Barbara County.
He fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Michael Harris, who left the post after six years on the job to take a position with CenCal Health, the regional public healthcare agency serving Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties.
