Autopsy results are still pending on a Santa Barbara County Jail inmate who died in custody.
County Sheriff’s Department officials just released word of the June 10th death. They say that on June 7th, Marcos Garza had some type of an undisclosed emergency, and was taken to a hospital for treatment of what’s described as an ongoing medical issue.
The department says it appears the death of the 54 year old Santa Maria man was from natural causes.
He was booked at the jail June 4th on a theft charge, and was ruled ineligible for bail because of charges of possession, and being under the influence of controlled substances, and resisting a peace officer.
